Sarita durian processing factory is invested on an area of nearly 1 hectare, total investment of 100 billion VND, capacity of 40,000 tons/year, specializing in processing fresh and peeled durian fruits. When the factory is completed and put into operation, it will create regular jobs for about 300 managers and workers.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tay Nguyen Durian Joint Stock Company Vu Phi Ho said that the company has officially been present in the Central Highlands for 3 years now, participating in the supply and production chain. Commodities with leading economic value in the agricultural industry of Vietnam in general and the Central Highlands region in particular. The company is committed to building Sarita into its own brand of durian in the Central Highlands, favored by the international market. Accordingly, Sarita will accompany cooperatives, businesses and farmers to create a closed production value chain, contributing to improving the economic efficiency of durian.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chairman of the Durian Association of Dak Lak province Vu Duc Con emphasized that in recent years, Vietnamese agricultural products have had many changes in export. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, by 2023 it is expected that the agricultural industry will reach an agricultural export level of over 50 billion USD. Among them, there are about 10 industries with export turnover of over 1 billion USD, including durian, accounting for about ¼ of the total export value of Vietnam's fruit industry.

In Dak Lak, previously the main export products were coffee, rubber, and pepper. In the past two years, durian has become the third-largest export value industry, and will likely rank second in export turnover among the province's agricultural products industries. Dak Lak is proud to be a locality with a large scale of durian growing in the Central Highlands, and believes that in the future it will be the leading province in terms of area, output and export turnover of this industry.
